The feature game of the weekly college football board boasts two football powerhouses meeting for the second year in a row, this time in Lincoln, NE.

USC took full home-field advantage in last year’s game winning 28-10 while outgaining the Cornhuskers 399-211. The Trojans are believed to have more talent than almost anyone nationwide, but in truth, the gap between them and Nebraska has probably closed some since the last meeting. USC has an added bonus of coming off a bye week and is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 road openers. Nebraska is once again making life tough for foes in Lincoln, going 6-1 ATS in its L7 at home.

USC has more talent than a walk up and down Santa Monica beach, with a bevy of football players on the two deep that would embarrass most conferences, let alone other teams. Coach Pete Carroll has come to embody “California cool” selling fun, championships and the best path to the NFL.

After slight regression, Nebraska is heading back in the right direction after initial head scratching in the Cornhusker state. Bill Callahan turned plenty of heads trying to make Nebraska a passing team after 40+ years of run first football. To Callahan’s credit, he changed that misbegotten notion, and now the Huskers can pass and run the ball. Arizona State’s loss is Nebraska’s gain with transfer Sam Keller running the offense and Marlon Lucky running thru lanes wider then the ones on I-80 going thru the state.

This will be the biggest non-conference game and toughest ticket since Notre Dame visited in 2001. Nebraska will be the underdog and are 4-2 ATS in this spot at Memorial Stadium. The Huskers are 1-5, yet 4-2 against the spread facing Top 10 teams. USC is 9-1 ATS in first road game of the season.
